Anderson South America Misadventure Day 18 - Off the coast of Chile "First Day of Spring, I Think." March 21, 2020

We woke this morning to the ship not rocking. Yup, they are still loading food so we are still in the harbor off the coast of Valparaiso. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night because I had a migraine. I do have meds to take, but prefer to hold off. And no, I do not know what causes them. If I did know what caused them I would never ever do it again. This morning my headache was firmly entrenched. I left breakfast early to take some Ibuprofen and hide in the dark. Rob took his crossword puzzle elsewhere to give me quiet. By lunch it was not too bad but a Coke Zero helped. We sit in pretty much the same area of the Lido and always order Coke Zero. When the drink attendant comes around he just looks at me and asks "2 Coke Zeros?" Nice to be remembered. We played trivia, did not do well, and went back to our cabin to crash. Rob slept a little, I really slept. While we enjoy all of the activities on the ship until we both get these sinus infections under control we need to slow down and not try to do everything. I broke down and started to take the antibiotic. I do feel better. Rob had been given, given is not accurate, he paid for it, a decongestant. It was a series of blister packs in a box. He took it out of the box and put the blister packs on his nightstand. Yeah, they are gone. We searched all over and then gave up for a while. I mentioned that it could be behind the nightstand. He moved it out and asked me to check. When you have a sinus infection and a migraine hanging off the edge of the bed to look is not exactly the top of your "to do" list. I had him give me his cell phone so that I could look. He asked if I wanted his cell phone so that I could use the flashlight. Well, unless you have a flashlight. All the time that we are having this discussion I have my head hanging off of the bed. Anyway, we did not find it. I keep saying that if he had left it in the box...... Just before dinner the captain came on to announce that they had finished loading 21 days of supplies and we were set to take off. He also had good news. We are heading north to Ft Lauderdale. YAY!!!! We are currently scheduled to disembark in Ft Lauderdale on March 30 going through the Panama canal on March 27. This is plan A. Plan B & C are San Diego and Puerto Vallarta. I have been told that there is a back up of ships at the Panama Canal. As we head further north they will have to make the decision so then we will find out. He also announced that to celebrate this good news there would be free wine with dinner. And he promised that none of it was Chilean wine. That go a good laugh. The mood at dinner was much better. However at our table we had the previously mentioned "slow eater." We wanted to go to the show after dinner and she took 15 minutes to eat a salad. She cut a tomato slice into 8 pieces. We made an excuse about forgotten medication and left before dessert. When the cruise director introduced the show he said that we must all be happy about the good news; we will be disembarking in Ft Lauderdale March 30, 2021. We can still laugh at this. The show tonight was the comedian again. He joked about that he did not have a second show, he is never asked back. I am sure that he had planned to be off by now. I did find out that this ship made international news:
